Why a screenshot is not proof
Every Ethiopian bank and wallet publishes a receipt page for each transaction, and sends the customer a link to it. That page is the record. A screenshot is a picture of that page at some moment, and a picture can be edited in a minute on any phone: the amount, the name, the date, the reference. The edit costs nothing and it is invisible.
The only check that survives that is going back to the institution and asking what it has on record. That is all this does. It takes the reference, fetches the receipt from the provider that issued it, and hands you back what the provider says, so you are comparing the customer’s claim against the bank rather than against itself.
